Attention runners, Join the CAC Boston Marathon 2012 Team!
Feb 01, 2012

Attention Runners! April is Child Abuse Prevention month AND the month of the historic Boston Marathon! District Attorney Daniel F. Conley has obtained Invitational Applications marathon numbers and we are assembling an awesome team of runners to raise funds for the CAC.
Several runners are already on board (check back soon for more info about our runners) but we still have a few Invitational Applications* available.
In order to run with the 2012 Suffolk CAC Marathon Team, runners do not need to achieve a qualifying time; however, they must fit the following requirements:
- Complete the Marathon in 6 hours or less;
- Abide by all rules and regulations set by the B.A.A.;
- Raise a minimum of $2,500 for the CAC.
If you or someone you know would be interested in supporting the CAC by running the Boston Marathon, please contact us at cac@state.ma.us as soon as possible!
Please note that in addition to the $2500 fundraising commitment, each runner is also responsible for a $300 application fee to the Boston Athletic Association.
We look forward to hearing from you!
(*An “invitational” runner is permitted to officially compete in the race without meeting a qualifying minimum race time in a prior marathon, but is expected to raise funds for a nonprofit agency. )
