Emily Burford is an undergraduate student at Northeastern University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in writing. She is planning to pursue a Master’s in Social Work and is interested in becoming a therapist. Emily is currently on co-op at the CAC as the Multidisciplinary Team Assistant supporting the MDT and its partners by assisting with the intake of cases into the CAC’s database.

Emily has prior volunteer experience with the Crisis Text Line and research experience in Trauma and Eating Disorders. In high school, she was president of the Sexual Assault Prevention Board and was awarded for her leadership role in establishing an annual sexual assault awareness day at her school. She is excited to continue her advocacy with the CAC and hopes to deepen that commitment through her work helping survivors and their families.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing soccer, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends.
