Sheelah Gobar is the Program Manager of the Support to End Exploitation Now (SEEN) Program at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Suffolk County. In her role as a primary Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) coordinator, Sheelah facilitates multidisciplinary interventions for commercially sexually exploited and high risk youth (CSEC). Serving as a liaison between service providers and law enforcement, she ensures prompt communication and victim-centered responses. She strives to provide outreach to community partners on CSEC identification, reporting, and resources.

Sheelah came to the CAC after completing her MS in Crime and Justice Studies at Suffolk University with a concentration in Victim Advocacy. Sheelah previously served as rape crisis counselor where she provided medical advocacy to sexual assault survivors during their time in the emergency room. With an interest in data collection and a specialization on victimization in all its forms: psychological, sociological, political, and legal, Sheelah is motivated to provide evidence-based, trauma-informed support and services for the high-risk and sexually exploited youth referred to SEEN.
