Vanessa is a Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English) Forensic Interviewer for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Suffolk County. Her job is to talk to children about their experiences and gather information in a comfortable setting that is age and developmentally appropriate.

Prior to becoming a forensic interviewer, Vanessa worked for several years as a Victim-Witness Advocate at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office. She specifically worked as an advocate in the Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Protection Units. As an advocate, she provided crisis intervention, emotional support to families, designed safety plans and worked collaboratively with different agencies to better support children and families. She received a Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University where she spent a great amount of time doing community service work, missionary trips and worked at the Queen’s Volunteer Lawyer’s Project. She is passionate and dedicated to serving individuals who have been impacted by violence or abuse.

In her free time, Vanessa enjoys traveling, listening to music, and visiting a new art gallery.
