SEEN Case Coordinator Attends National Conference on Juvenile Sex Trafficking

Earlier this month, CAC SEEN Coordinator, Sophie Jordan (far right in photo) was one of nearly 1,000 in-person attendees at the JuST Conference in Fort Worth, TX. Additionally, 400 participants joined the event virtually.

During the three-day conference―organized by Shared Hope International―attendees heard from national experts in the field of human trafficking prevention on topics including:

    • Importance of Multi-Disciplinary Team collaboration
    • Importance of trauma-informed care when working with survivors
    • Enhancing the survivor-ally relationship (presented by CAC partner agency My Life, My Choice)
    • How to center survivor leadership
    • The criminal legal system from the youth perspective
    • Familial trafficking (what it is, how to detect it, etc.)
    • And so much more...

“I was grateful for the opportunity to attend the JuST 2022 Conference," Sophie said. "I learned so much from my peers in the movement and can’t wait to put this new knowledge into practice to better serve youth impacted by CSEC.”

Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Coordinators from across the Commonwealth were present at the conference. In the photo below from left to right are:
