Makesha is the Community Engagement Coordinator at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Suffolk County (CAC). In this role, she leads outreach efforts, strengthens partnerships with community organizations, and supports multidisciplinary teams in their work with children and families impacted by trauma. Her work centers on building accessible, trauma‑informed pathways to services, increasing community awareness of child safety, and fostering collaborative relationships across Suffolk County.

Prior to joining the CAC, Makesha completed various internships with organizations such as the Allston Brighton Community Development Corporation, the Department of Mental Health, and the City of Boston Equity & Inclusion Cabinet. Through these roles, she gained experience in community engagement, program coordination and equity centered capacity building.

Makesha holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Gordon College and a Master’s in Social Work from Boston College, where she focused on macro practice with children, youth and families. She also obtained a certificate in Social Work and Public Health upon completion of her master’s program.

In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, reading and is involved in her faith community where she does ministry work with youth and children.
