Parents Preventing Child Abuse Webinar: Sexting & Non-Consensual Image-Sharing - What Parents Need to Know

1 in 7 youth have shared their own nude images. Of those youth, 1 in 3 did so with someone they believed to be an adult. Join us to learn:

  • How to talk with youth about sexting, non-consensual image-sharing, online exploitation, and more
  • How to respond in an effective and supportive way if your child’s nude image has been shared

Uno de cada siete jóvenes ha compartido imágenes propias de desnudismo. De esos jóvenes, uno de cada tres lo hizo con alguien que creía que era un adulto. Acompáñenos para aprender:

PRESENTERS

Erica Chepulis, LCSW | Training Program Manager, CAC of Suffolk County 

As the Training Program Manager at the Children's Advocacy Center of Suffolk County, Erica leads the Training & Outreach Program in educating professionals and community members to prevent, recognize, and respond to child abuse. In her role, she conducts strategic outreach efforts to ensure all members of Suffolk County have access to critical child safety information, develops and facilitates trainings, and designs effective resources to engage caregivers, professionals, and youth in child abuse prevention.

Erica earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Wheelock College while completing an internship with the Department of Children and Families. She earned her Master's in Social Work from Salem State University while interning with Big Sister Association in the Site-Based Mentoring program, where she facilitated social-emotional groups for girls and their mentors. She became a Licensed Certified Social Worker in 2020. Prior to joining the CAC, Erica worked with the Boys & Girls Club of Woburn as the Education Director and focused on developing and implementing high-yield programming in STEM, the arts, citizenship, and social-emotional learning for youth of all ages. Erica is passionate about empowering others with skills to promote child safety. 

Sophie Jordan | CSEC Intervention & Prevention Specialist, CAC of Suffolk County 

Sophie Jordan is the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Prevention and Intervention Specialist at the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Suffolk County. In this role, Sophie works with CAC partners to coordinate and facilitate person-centered, trauma-informed, and comprehensive services for youth survivors. Prior to joining the CAC, Sophie worked as a Montessori Educator at Children’s House Montessori School in Burlington, North Carolina and interned as a Client Advocate at the New Hampshire domestic violence and sexual assault crisis center, HAVEN. These experiences have helped her develop a strong understanding of child development, best-practice when working with survivors, and micro, mezzo, and macro social systems. Sophie is committed to a strengths-based approach when working with survivors. 

Sophie earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Service Studies from Elon University. She absolutely loves being a part of the Suffolk County CAC team and is committed to using her knowledge and passion for child advocacy to help support and empower youth in Boston,  Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop.
