Protecting Children from Sexual Abuse
Surviving R. Kelly. Finding Neverland. #MeToo. Catholic clergy abuse. Sexual abuse of unaccompanied immigrant minors.
Every day, we hear about child sexual abuse in the news.
You might be wondering...how can I prevent this from happening? What do I do if I suspect a child is being abused? Talking about sexual abuse with children can feel awkward and scary, but it doesn't have to be.
Join us for a free workshop at Parker Hill Library (1497 Tremont Street, Roxbury, MA 02120) on Saturday, April 27, 2019, 11:30-1:30.
You will learn:
- How to identify when an adult may be “grooming” a child for sexual abuse
- Signs of sexual abuse in children
- How to respond to disclosures or concerns of child sexual abuse
- How the CAC of Suffolk County can provide support
- Ways to protect children from sexual abuse by talking with children about boundaries and body safety, and monitoring children’s relationships with others
